How to read a coin chart

2 min read
In short

Each candle shows how the price moved in a period of time. Green means it closed higher than it opened, red means lower. Volume bars underneath show how much was traded.

Candles

The thick body runs from the opening to the closing price. The thin lines show the highest and lowest price in that period.

Time frames

Switch between 1m, 5m, 15m, 1h, 4h and 1d. Short time frames show the latest moves, long ones show the trend.

Volume

A price move on high volume means many people agree. A move on tiny volume can reverse quickly.

FAQ

Why does a new coin's chart look empty?

There aren't enough trades yet. It fills in as people trade.
